January Virtual Seminar (Grafting & Grapevine Trunk Diseases)
January 20, 2021
1:00PM - 2:30PM
Trunk Disease Control & Vineyard Grafting
As we begin the new growing season and vineyard owners begin pruning, it is the perfect time to discuss fungal pathogens living in the woody parts of the grapevine. Wood diseases are the primary reason vineyards collapse and require replanting, costing vineyard owners thousands of dollars per acre. Yet, most of these diseases are preventable with cultural and fungicide practices. We will also hear from Vineyard Managers, Lucas Pope and Octavio Garcia on grapevine grafting: how to prep a vineyard and manage the vines after grafting and even a sneak peek video of some grafts in action!
