February 26, 2026
3:00 PM
Whether you are new to wine grape cultivation or a seasoned grower, come learn the latest on vine pruning to grow the best grapes your vineyard can manage, manage canopy size in anticipation of climate and fungus issues, and help preserve an older vineyard. Bring your hat and your pruning questions.

In Field Presenter
Ivan Gonzales, Vineyard Manager, Vineyard Professional Services (VPS)
Ivan joined VPS in early 2018 after several years as a vineyard manager in Napa and Sonoma. A native of Napa, Ivan was the first of his extended family to attend and receive a college degree, matriculating from Cal Poly SLO with a BS in Viticulture in 2012. Ivan has extensive experience managing organically certified ranches. Having grown up in the wine industry due to his father's 40-year career in vineyard management, Ivan's first full-time position came the summer after high school as a winery intern at Saintsbury in Napa. Since then Ivan has worked as a winery research assistant at the Universidad Politecnica de Madrid and held numerous vineyard management positions at Premier Pacific Vineyards (Santa Rita Hills) and Clark Vineyard Management (St. Helena). Today Ivan provides vineyard management oversight to several prominent winery estate properties.
