Grapevine Trunk Disease identification and Management; Vineyard Removal Process

Date/Time: Wednesday November 19, 1-3pm

Venue: Zoom

1hr of CE credit available

Join us for the last IGGPRA grower seminar of 2025 on Zoom on Wednesday November 19 from 1-3pm. We have two timely presentations that you won't want to miss. Dr. Marcelo Bustamante, a Postdoctoral Scholar in the Department of Plant Pathology at UC Davis will present on identification and management of grapevine trunk disease for 1 hour of continuing education credit. Grapevine trunk disease is the main cause of vineyard decline and is an issue every grower should be actively addressing in any vineyard 10 years old or older.

Former IGGPRA Board of Directors member Linnea Smith, VPS Chief Operations Officer, will present the process of vineyard removal either for redevelopment or fallowing. Given the current issues in the wine business coupled with increasing farming costs, Paso Basin groundwater issues, and property values, vineyard removal has become a necessity for many growers. Come learn what it takes and what it is likely to cost to remove a vineyard on any terrain.
