August 20, 2025
1:00 PM - 3:00 PM

August Seminar:
August 20th, 2025 1:00 PM In-Person
We have an interesting mix of presentations on tap for IGGPRA's August seminar. Join us at Castoro Cellars on 20 August to learn about the Central Coast Bat Survey from study director Bill Haas, and the important contribution these often mis-understood creatures make to agriculture and insect control. Looking to simplify your harvest prep while maximizing wine quality? Bryanna Grebe, Technical Winemaker for LAFFORT USA, will share innovative tools to set your 2025 vintage up for success. Topics include bioprotection strategies to limit undesirable microorganisms on grapes and processing equipment, new yeast strains for fermentation control, and a new barrel equivalence tasting featuring NOBILE oak alternatives. Lastly, Jeremy Leffert and Matt Ortman briefly introduced their new Fortress Custom Crush facility at our July seminar. They will return to give a fuller description of the services they provide at their state-of-the-art facility.
